As a hands-on leader, Manish focuses on identifying new opportunities and expanding the business, ensuring Phoenix Money continues to evolve and thrive in a competitive market. His strategic approach and commitment to excellence has established Phoenix Money as a trusted partner for property finance solutions, with ambitious plans for the company’s next phase of growth.
John Drinkwater
Chairman
John brings valuable financial expertise and charisma to Phoenix Money as Chairman. He spent 11 years at Goldman Sachs, leading fixed income teams and specialising in marketing structured products like global mortgage securitisations, earning industry respect.
After Goldman Sachs, he co-founded a successful private equity firm and became the largest shareholder in a bridging and development finance company. His relationship skills helped manage over £1 million in loans and connect high-net-worth lenders, driving growth until the business was sold in 2018.
At Phoenix Money, John’s deep knowledge of finance and his personable nature make him an asset. His extensive network continues to support the company’s expansion.
Rory Nelson
Head of Legal
Rory Nelson is a qualified Solicitor with expertise in Commercial Property and Property Finance. Previously a partner at a leading Liverpool law firm, he now heads legal affairs at Phoenix Money and also works as a consultant solicitor at Excello Law. Since joining Phoenix Money, Rory has been the go-to legal expert, ensuring smooth operations and compliance in complex property deals. His hands-on, proactive approach is a driving force behind the firm’s growth and success.
Yochai Zorno
Head of Underwriting
With two decades of property finance experience, Yochai is a seasoned expert and the driving force behind underwriting at Phoenix Money. His industry knowledge, strategic mindset, and dedication to excellence have earned him a reputation as a trusted leader.
Yochai specialises in bridging finance, new business development, and nurturing strong relationships. He has successfully structured multiple high value loans and as the Underwriting Relationship Manager at Together, managed monthly completions of up to £100million.
His skills and leadership help Phoenix Money deliver precise lending decisions and smooth processes, turning client visions into reality. Yochai is passionate about innovation and consistently strives to exceed expectations in property finance.
Andy Flanagan
Head of Finance
Andy brings over 10 years of finance know-how to his role as Head of Finance at Phoenix Money. Before joining in July 2023, he spent 12 years at RSM where he was a Senior Audit Manager and led audits for a wide range of industries, always with a strategic mind and a knack for delivering results.
With expertise in financial reporting, compliance, and leadership, Andy manages budgeting and forecasting while guiding the company’s financial direction. Recognised for his attention to detail and strong relationship skills, he plays a vital role in the growth and success of Phoenix Money.
Zennie Major
Operations manager
Zennie joined Phoenix Money as an Executive Assistant, bringing over 17 years of experience across charities, scientific testing, and software. Her diverse background and strong organisational skills quickly proved invaluable, leading to her transition into the role of Operations Manager.
At Phoenix Money, she keeps daily operations running smoothly – managing schedules, coordinating activities, and ensuring the team stays aligned. Known for her professionalism and approachable nature, Zennie fosters positive relationships and open communication.
